The Mary Dow Center is a collaborative endeavor between Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center’s CancerCare of Maine. This treatment center provides patients in Hancock and Washington counties quality care at a convenient location. The Mary Dow Center serves as a resource for patients and their families for information and continuity of care. The Center offers specialized treatments for

  • Osteoporosis 
  • Anemia 
  • Multiple Sclerosis 
  • Immune Deficiencies 
  • Neurological Diseases 
  • Blood Transfusions


A New Facility

In November 2011, Maine Coast Memorial Hospital broke ground on a new $2.1 million facility for the Mary Dow Center for Cancer Care. The new Center will encompass space from the former emergency department and 3,000 square feet of new construction at the northeast entrance of the Hospital. The project will be funded by institutional support and philanthropy.


Highlights of the New Center

  • 11 infusion bays designed for patient comfort with the choice of semi-private and private rooms 
  • A dedicated pharmacy based on the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ standards 
  • A healing garden to promote tranquility and relaxation
